The MXC-8 catalyst (dimethylcyclohexylamine) is a strong basic, colorless to brownish-yellow transparent liquid with a typical amine odor. After being stored, the catalyst may darken, but this does not affect its reactivity. It is soluble in most polyols and organic solvents, but almost insoluble in water.
